Spiritual Life

SCHOOL MASSES, COMMUNION SERVICES, PRAYER SERVICES

On a monthly basis, Masses, Communion Services, or Prayer Services are held with student sponsorship and participation. These incorporate Holy Days of Obligation, Feast Days, and monthly Spiritual themes. Please see below for a schedule of these activities.

School Masses are celebrated by Priests from the Parishes represented at SMS: Father James Miceli, Saint Mary's - Rome; Father Joe Shaute, Saint Clements - Calhoun; Father Dan Stack - Saint Francis of Assisi - Cartersville; and Father Rafael Castano, Saint Bernadettes - Cedartown. They are assisted at Mass by the School Chaplain, Deacon Stuart Neslin.

Communion Services feature students reading from Sacred Scripture, a Gospel Proclamation and brief Reflection, and distribution of Communion by a Deacon. Prayer services feature students reading from Sacred Scripture and offering Prayer Intentions composed by the class sponsoring the Prayer Service.

Parishioners, parents, and other members of School families are always most welcome to attend any and all of these events!

Class Masses at Saint Mary's Catholic Church

Throughout the School Year, grades 1-8 will participate in the Noon Daily Mass at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Students will present the readings, psalm, and prayer intentions. Time permitting, they will tour the Church and Sacristy. Parents and other members of School families are encouraged to attend! A schedule of class Masses for the coming year is below.
